Thank you for all of the love you’ve all shown me since announcing the launch of my own consulting firm, Catalais Consulting Ltd.
Someone once told me to “tone down my warrior,” and at first, I didn’t understand. But over time, I realized they were referring to the voice I’ve built advocating for myself and others, amplifying diverse experiences, and pushing for real change — a voice that sometimes makes others uncomfortable.
I’ve learned from leaders like Kevin Chief and Solange Tuyishime Keita that systemic racism and gender discrimination persist because we treat them as things of the past, rather than ongoing challenges that still impact so many today.
With this in mind, I’m excited to share my first big project:
✨ I’m writing a book that features the real, honest stories of women in finance – across capital markets, asset management, wealth advice, etc. This project is not about shaming firms or leaders but about deepening our understanding of the legacy barriers women still face across the industry, and how they’ve navigated their careers while overcoming those obstacles in a broken system. It’s grounded in learning, empathy, and driving meaningful change together.
✨ These stories will be co-written with each woman featured, and I’ve already filled several chapters. If you’re interested in sharing your story, please reach out to me at jenny@catalais.com.
I’m also deeply inspired by collaborative books written by incredible leaders in various fields, and the impact they’ve made. We can only move forward by coming together and working as a collective for progress. If you have a moment, check out The Right to Remain Silent: The Truth About Mental Health in the Legal Profession by a group of legal professionals, and Embracing Ambition co-written by my good friend Delphine Haslé, CFRE.
Because this project truly takes a village, the proceeds of this book will be donated to organizations that uplift and upskill women in finance. I’m in discussions with some amazing organizations now and will share more details in the new year.
Until then, I encourage you all to lead with kindness — it’s one of the most overlooked yet powerful gifts we can offer. Kindness heals, brightens, and brings us closer, reminding us that we are more alike than we are different. It is strength, not weakness.
Thank you for reading.
