After 16 phenomenal years, today marked my last day at BMO—a place I’ve called home since I was 22-years old. I want to share my deep love and respect for this organization and my gratitude to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey. To me, the BMO family I’ve made here are part of the heart and soul of this company— no matter how long or how brief we’ve known each other.

Over my career, the greatest lesson I’ve learned is that our voices possess the fortitude to stand up for others, stand up for ourselves, and inspire others to want to be better.

Leadership manifests in all of us in various forms. I’ve learned that leadership isn’t just about having a title, or about being loud. It’s about being kind, engaging with curiosity, having the courage to be vulnerable and authentically ourselves by speaking up, sharing our unique experiences, and when we do we can inspire so much change – this time as “warriors”, not just allies.

You can be an ally just by knowing that something is wrong and still do nothing about it because it doesn’t affect you. In a world, but especially an industry where many of us are still fighting for ourselves, for each other, to be seen, heard and respected every single day – because some of us are still the only in the room — I would say that we need more “warriors”, not less.

Thank you, my BMO family, for this unforgettable journey. You’ve all taught me so much and I look forward to applying everything I’ve learned and lived through outside these beautiful blue walls so that I can continue to disrupt our industry and help drive meaningful change across our entire landscape as a consultant.
